Wendy Ann Stanger.

Wendy Ann has over 16 years of experience of working with silk and fleece fibres, developing her own unique methods, after having discovered the silk fusion technique during her Degree at Cumbria College of Art in 1999. Graduating with a 2:1 in Textile Arts, her degree show was inspired by the relationship between mother and child, looking at decay and growth of natural objects and our inherent need to protect our offspring. Initially studying fine art and Ceramics it was her love for fibre based techniques that started her textile journey.

Silk fusion is a versatile technique, that allows you to incorporate natural and organic forms found in the landscape. Delicately encasing dried and pressed flowers into layers of fibre to create beautiful tactile surfaces which can be embellished or transformed.
